WHAT: Santa Maria River Trip
WHEN: Nov.-- April, Jan. is good
WHERE: The Mexican states of San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, and Guanajuato come together between the first and second canyons on the Rio Santa Maria. The river then follows the S.L.P.-Qro. border. The next two canyons are below the highway bridge at Conca.
WHY: it's a great trip into the Mexican backcountry.
