SANTA MARIA RIVER TRIP GREAR
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT
Water temperatures are cool (some times warm) in late February in the daytime. Air temps are in the 80's .Rain is rare. At least a farmer john type wet suit (with legs) is required. Even though there is a slim chance you won’t need it. River shoes are a problem. Teva sandals often don't work well on the river because they get pea gravel inside/underneath and need to be cleaned out.
I like light weight ,high top, jungle boots which can be worn wet all day-- or sturdy neoprene river shoes with good soles.
