This is a cistern still under construction. It will be constructed with a concrete slab on the bottom and top. The walls are constucted with bricks and then plastered. When done, it will measure 3m long by 3m wide by 2m deep or about 18 cubic meters (18,000 liters). That's 9.8 feet by 9.8 feet by 6.7 feet or about 600 cubic feet (4,755 gallons). Rainwater from the roof will be gathered into this cistern. The water can be used for gardening and/or for the house.
There is an existing similarly sized cistern that was constructed originally but it is connected to town water. |
